Guyana Entry Requirements – 2025
This one-page update summarizes the latest travel rules for UK passport holders visiting Guyana as of 2025.
Visa-Free Stay: UK passport holders can enter Guyana visa-free for up to 30 days. UK passport holders can apply for an extension available via the Ministry of Home Affairs for another 30 days and if necessary, a further 30 days on top of that, a total of 90 days.
This is the official requirement however, if you in possession of a valid Guyanese passport these rules do not apply. If you have an expired Guyanese passport or an original Guyanese Birth Certificate, these can be used to prove your Guyanese citizenship and you may be granted entry for longer than 30 days.
Passport Validity: Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival and have 2 blank pages.
Health Declaration: Mandatory online embarkation/disembarkation form within 48 hours before travel. this is now part of the electronic immigration and customs form, so there is just one for to fill in, ensure you complete the form online and carry all required documents to avoid delays.
Vaccination: Yellow Fever certificate required if arriving from a risk country. Recommended: Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, Tetanus, Rabies, Malaria precautions.
Biometric Checks: Digital immigration form and biometric scanning introduced at Cheddi Jagan International Airport in 2025.
Other Requirements: Onward/return ticket and proof of sufficient funds required at immigration.
