St Kitts and Nevis is one of those places where you can point your camera, click, and get a great picture every time. From Timothy Hill you can see the whole of this beautiful island with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Caribbean sea on the other. Volcanos, rainforest and coral reefs can all be found here. The stamp size square in Basseterr is a charming centrepiece and a great place to hang out.

Need to know

Emergencies - Dial 911 for Police Fire and ambulance.

Security in St Kitts - Many visitors travel to the island each year and do not have any incidents however we recommend that you take care at night although the island is mostly hassle free. Take advice from the locals at your hotel and do not leave your belongings unattended on the beach. Use your hotel safe or security boxes to store your valuables. With unfamiliar and small winding roads, avoid driving at night and unless accompanied by guides, avoid very isolated areas.

Other Risks - When taking a boat trip check that the boat operator has sails or oars in the event of an engine breakdown, a radio and lifejackets and equipment in the event of a fire. Accidents do happen and boats can break down. Please take the necessary precautions to safeguard yourself. When sourcing a water sport provider that is not affiliated to your hotel, make sure they are properly licenced to provide those services, avoid approaches on the beach from vendors offering water sport.
